Position – Branch Manager
Location – Lincoln
General Summary
Serve our membership by providing and promoting prudent products and services while attending to members’ financial needs. Responsible for the performance of all retail operations functions at assigned location with excellent member service. Responsible for management of assigned branch location and staff. Manage the performance of associates by training, guiding and advising to meet member needs.
Branch Manager Job Duties
Staff Management
Establish and maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff with in a team-oriented environment.
Create and maintain a goal-oriented sales and cross-selling approach within the branch.
Manage job standards, chart workflow, and adjust workloads when necessary, according to staffing and operational needs.
Complete monthly coaching conversations, annual performance reviews, and corrective conversations for designated branch staff.
Communicate with staff regularly regarding feedback, including accomplishments, areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, new developments or services, all matters related to branch operations.
Operations Management.
Monitor and manage branch operations to ensure an accurate, effective, and appropriate approach is being consistently exercised.
Maintain LFCU and industry knowledge to ensure the branch is in compliance with all regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Manage security and safety of the branch along with analyzing and auditing policies and procedure and communicating as necessary to staff.
Manage branch facility, with responsibility for its overall physical maintenance
Assist in managing the needs of equipment and supplies for branch
Help analyze needs and changes in the branch to maintain and increase support of member needs and expectations.
Maintain the cash vault and assist with Teller operations as needed.
Product and Service Expectations
Monitor and achieve branch budgetary goals and objectives.
Monitor product and sales reports to ensure profitable and sound business practices are being implemented, ensuring a high quality of service for members is being provided, and that associates are maximizing opportunities to serve members and meet the goals of the credit union.
Actively support our “sales and service" culture and demonstrate these skills by communicating to members the benefits and features of all our products and services and lead branch staff to do the same.
Interview members and gather background information for all banking product applications
Provide financial counseling based on results of interviewing to approve or deny member of deposit or consumer lending products within product guidelines or as directed by designated management.
Complete deposit/lending documentation or complete denial documentation process.
Credit Union Duties
Participate in community and business-related events.
Assist in any area as directed by management.
Requirements
Education:
Advanced coursework in Business, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred.
Experience:
Supervisory experience required, 3 years or more preferred. Experience should include performance management, training, staffing and managing compliance.
Credit Union or banking experience required. 2 or more years’ experience in a role including lending and developing deposit portfolios required, 3-5 years preferred.
Knowledge:
Requires knowledge of all related banking regulations, and ability to learn and effectively apply policies/procedures for all services and products.
Must have demonstrated leadership experience and qualities to support the needs of the branch.
Must have demonstrated experience and success in a goal-oriented role and managing a team with deliverables and expectations.
Skills:
Must have professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for handling all member needs and supervising branch staff.
Must have demonstrated excellent decision making, judgement and time management.
Must have demonstrated ability to promote products and services in a sales and service environment to reach the credit union’s financial goals.
Work Hours
Full-time. Monday - Friday. Saturday morning rotation.
Wage
Salaried exempt
Base wage $58,000 - $75,000/yr plus monthly incentive. Incentive per year ranges from $7,000 - $12,000+. Total base wage plus incentive is $65,000-$87,000+/yr
Eligible for a wage increase annually as part of a merit performance review
Eligible for a discretionary gain-share plan payment annually
LFCU BENEFITS AND OTHER PROGRAMS
Insurance Benefits – Full-time
Medical – LFCU pays 85% of premium, associates pay only 15%
Dental – LFCU pays 100% of premium
Vision - LFCU pays 50% of premium
Life and ADD – LFCU pays 100% of premium. Additional coverage available with associate contribution.
Short-term and Long-term Disability – LFCU pays 100% of premium
AFLAC Supplemental –Cancer, Critical Care, Accident, Hospital - associate paid
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) – Health Savings and Dependent Care
Retirement
LFCU matches 100% up to 3% plus 50% up to 5% of associate’s 401(k) contributions for a total of 4%.
LFCU contributes 5% of associate earnings to Profit Sharing.
Gain Share Plan
Reviewed for approval by the Board annually, this discretionary plan rewards associates when the credit union achieves above average performance. Associates are also rewarded based on their level of performance and contributions to the success of the credit union.
Paid Leave – Full-time
Vacation– 2 weeks/year for new hires
Sick – 2 weeks/year for new hires
Personal Day – 2 days earned after one year
Holiday Pay – 6 paid holidays/year plus 5 additional federal holidays per year are reserved for all-staff meetings. For one 1 of the 5, staff are required to attend an all-staff meeting, and the remaining 4 may be provided as holiday pay based on LFCU's discretion.
