A D.O.N. Floor Assistant supports the D.O.N in overseeing nursing staff and operations, performing tasks including, but not limited to staff onboarding, rounding, conflict resolution, patient care oversight, and managing supplies to ensure quality and efficient patient care. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills to support the D.O.N in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This job is open to all staff with a nursing background. Floor experience is required. Candidate will work a regular Full-Time schedule (30 hours a week) and perform extra duties as assigned 4-8 hours a week. Holiday and weekend rotation is required. This position requires the ability to work variable shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Staff Supervision & Support:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to floor staff.

  • Oversee staff performance and participate in rounding and onboarding duties

• Operational Support:

  • Perform assigned tasks by the D.O.N.

  • Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining patient records, managing documentation, and assisting with reports for the D.O.N.

• Communication & Coordination:

  • Facilitate and monitor communication on the floor

  • Facilitate smooth workflow and communication within the unit, resolving issues and conflicts as they arise.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Leadership:.

  • Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of healthcare professionals.

• Clinical Skills:.

  • Any licensure acceptable (CNA-LPN-RN) A strong clinical background and understanding of nursing principles and practices.

• Communication:.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with different personalities.

• Organizational Skills:.

  • Superior organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Problem-Solving:.

  • The ability to identify problems, analyze situations, and implement effective solutions.
