Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our growing team. The Design Engineer will work closely with customers, sales, and production teams to design custom fabrication projects, equipment layouts, and detailed part drawings that meet client needs and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop 2D and 3D designs, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or similar).
Provide a safe working environment for Tuttle employees and client associates
Responsible for ensuring all designs meet or exceed safety requirements set forth by OSHA, other regulating bodies and the client’s requirements
Ensuring concept development, designs and/or client defined solutions are technically viable and capable of delivering to the project and/or the client defined scope
Completing field measurement activities at the customer's site
Electronic designs and print packages are completed under the guidelines of the Tuttle design standards program
Deliver project solutions to client expectations within project deadline requirements
Financial accountability for design costs verses estimates, with profitability and efficiency targets as assigned by Tuttle.
Represent Tuttle professionally and with integrity at all times of interaction with clients, vendors in both business and personal situations
Develop and foster business relationships with clients, vendors.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering, Drafting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proficiency in CAD software; Experience in SolidWorks, Solid Edge or others strongly preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes (welding, machining, assembly).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and passionate about business growth.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel for business purposes.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Additional duties as assigned by Tuttle management necessary to deliver to against business performance targets.
