BUILDING MAINTENANCE/REPAIR TECHNICIAN
Sol’s Jewelry and Loan is looking for a hard-working, reliable and punctual Building Maintenance/Repair Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing all maintenance functions for all six stores.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Performs general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facility’s equipment and systems.
- Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
- Consults blueprints or building plans to identify best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems continue operating properly.
- Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
- Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school degree or equivalent
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Verifiable and proven experience as a Maintenance Technician 10+years.
Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.
Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Manuel dexterity and good attention to detail.
Good physical condition and strength with willingness to work overtime if needed.
Ability to follow instructions.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certificate in HVAC building maintenance technology or relevant field a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Sales floor or warehouse environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Ability to walk up flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces
Periodically works in outside weather conditions
Periodically works near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds
Availability to work flexible shifts that may include weekend, holiday or evening work as needed
